Anxious patient in Baldur's Gate 3 - NPC in the House of Healing. During their first meeting with Malus Torm, the heroes will notice an unfortunate man tied to a surgical table. In it, a mad doctor demonstrates to nurses the features of an approach to treating patients in the style of followers of the goddess Shar.
During the dialogue with Malus Torm, the patient continues to show signs of life. It seems that he can still be saved. This guide will tell you where to find and how to free the troubled patient in Baldur's Gate 3.
Where to find a restless patient
An anxious patient is strapped to a surgical table in the operating theater at the center of the Healing House. You can enter the building through the front entrance (X: -179; Y: -17). Enter the auditorium and enter into dialogue with Malus Torm.
How to Free a Troubled Patient in Baldur's Gate 3
Despite the patient's deplorable condition, he still shows signs of life when talking with Malus Torm.
Defeat Malus Torm
To remove the shackles from the poor fellow lying on the surgical table, you must first deal with Malus. You can do this in the following ways:
- Make Malus Torm kill himself using Diplomacy. This option can lead to the death of the patient, but only if the nurses are still alive: the surgeon will throw the patient off the table to lie on him himself. If they forced the sisters to chop up a friend of a friend first, and then began to convince Malus to deal with himself alone, then in such a scenario he will not lie down on the table and will simply pierce himself while standing. At the same time, the patient will save his life.
- Defeat Malus in open combat. If played carefully, this option will allow the patient to maintain his HP.
Both methods are discussed in detail in a separate guide dedicated to the task “Awaken Art Koolach».
Remove the shackles
After dealing with Malus, go to the hospital bed. If you try to talk to the patient, you will not hear anything but a grunt in response, but you can remove his shackles through the dialogue option. An alternative way to remove the shackles from a patient is to use the Knock spell on the bed. This ability is available to sorcerers, bards and wizards. You can also use a scroll with a spell.
Is it possible to save a restless patient?
If you use the spell “Knock”, the patient will get up from the bed, walk a couple of steps and fall dead. You won’t be able to get additional lines from him even with the help of the “Conversation with a Dead Man” enchantment. If you remove the shackles through dialogue, the patient will get up from the bed and run away in an unknown direction. In the latter case, it remains unknown what will happen to the troubled patient in BG3 after he has escaped.

You don’t have to kill Malus yourself - you can convince the nurses to do it, they will shut him up and the patient will remain on the table.
In the scenario where the nurses shut him up, Malus actually lies down on the table. There is another scenario in the game:
1) First, you convince the nurses to chop each other up.
2) Next, force Malus to deal with himself.
In this case, it does not lie on the table. Updated the guide.
if you don’t want to get a boost on steam then yes
Very strange... Is this on the new patch or not? Because in the previous one, after the fight with the Surgeon, I calmly talked to the patient, he hummed, but in the dialogue there was an option to release him. He jumped out of his bed and ran away in an unknown direction (I later tried to find him in the hospital, but I couldn’t find him).
This is the release version.
