How to steal the Idol of Silvanus in Baldur's Gate 3
Next, we'll look at how to steal a sacred idol in Baldur's Gate 3 covertly and without consequences, as well as with negative consequences for refugee tieflings and heroes.
Stop the Druid Ritual
Using this method, the heroes will be able to steal the sacred idol secretly, without spoiling relations with the druids and without putting the tieflings in danger. Initially, the statue is under constant supervision of the druids conducting the ritual - their attention cannot be diverted. Here's what you need to do to stop the ritual:
- Go to the abode of Kaga and other druids - you can get there through the stone door in the Sacred Pond.
- On the way you can save Arabella from Kaga's wrath: a persuasion check will do [KS - from 12].
- Go down into the secret hole in one of the rooms of the monastery, where it will be hidden Kaga Chest. Hack it [KS - from 10] and read a torn note.
- Explore the Druid's Hideout in the south of the swamps, kill the mud mephits and Vaid in the arena around the large tree stump, and then check the hollow in the ancient tree stump in the middle of the hideout where the Letter to Kage. From the note it will become clear that Kaga s the Circle of Shadows.
- Return to the Kaga in the grove and challenge her by ing 2 persuasion checks [CS - from 12, from 10]. There are other skills to choose from for checks.
If the checks are successfully completed, Kaga will be convinced - together with the grove, she will stand against the druids of the Circle of Shadows. Defeat the three enemies, talk to Kaga again and make sure she stops the ritual in the Sacred Pond.
The Druids will still guard the relic, but now they can be distracted. For this you will need:
- Invisibility potion.
- "Minor Illusion" trick that creates a distracting creature (Gale).
- A Fog spell that creates a cloud of impenetrable fog in an area (Gale).
Repeat the following working strategy, in which all accidents are reduced to a minimum:
- Break up the team - bring the thief hero close to the idol and switch him to stealth.
- Take Gale, cast the “Minor Illusion” focus with him at the location point indicated in the screenshot: next to the stone door, table and cauldron. At this point, the illusion will attract the attention of more druids.
- Immediately after casting the illusion, go to step-by-step mode.
- Cast Gale's fog on the area where the idol and the thief character are located.
- Choose the thief character's turn and commit the theft while the concealing fog is in effect and the druids are interested in the illusion.
- Immediately give the thief hero an invisibility potion.
- Exit turn-based mode and leave the crime scene as a thief hero. You can immediately connect the team and teleport quickly somewhere away from the Grove.
If everything was done correctly, then the druids will not understand who stole their statue, which means their relationship with them will not deteriorate. There is no need to hide Gale in this strategy, only the thief hero.
Fight the Druids
You can steal an idol during a ritual, but this will lead to catastrophic consequences:
- The theft will turn the druids against the tieflings and a massacre will begin.
- Theft will make the characters enemies of the druids.
A great way to quarrel with everyone: will do Dark Seduction.
What to do with the idol of Silvanus
You can keep the Silvanus statue for yourself or exchange it with Maul for another valuable item.
Give Mol
Return Mol the statue promised as part of the quest “Steal the Sacred Idol”, for which you will receive the Ring of Protection:
- KB +1.
- Challenges +1.
By giving the idol to the tiefling girl, you can steal it back from her inventory.
To keep for yourself
If you leave the item in your inventory, Silvanus will add nature and training skills to all carriers and neutral characters in the area, making it easier to the corresponding checks.
What to do if Silvanus's idol stops working
Before the official patch No. 3, there was a bug with the “Blessing of Silvanus” effect - the idol stopped working after a long rest in the camp if it was in the inventory, in addition, after transferring the idol to the storage, camp began to attack the hero. Previously, to solve the problem, before each long rest, you had to remove the idol of Silvanus from your inventory and leave it in the open world. Currently much more effective update Baldur's Gate 3 to the latest patchif you haven't already done so. If the bug persists, roll back to an earlier save, where the idol’s effect was still active, and start from this point in the age.

I don’t know who might need it in 24, but I called upon a magic hand and used it to push the idol beyond the druids’ line of sight (to the side where the bard girl was sitting) and then raised it there, accordingly.
The method with Gale and the illusion did not work; some of the druids remained with the idol. It’s easier to hire a Withered Mercenary Bard from the Withered Bard if you don’t have your own in the pack. The bard will play a melody, all the druids will be distracted by him, and the idol can be easily stolen.
