Obsidian is most often found on the ceiling, so bring plenty of wood to create a couple of stairs or platforms if necessary. Walk through the cave looking for dark stones with a purple glow - the resource is easy to spot against the background of the surrounding colors, just grab a few torches to light the way.
How to get obsidian in LEGO Fortnite
A regular or green pickaxe will not be suitable for mining, so you will need to upgrade the weapon to the blue level. To start upgrade your workbench, create a sawmill and craft a blue pickaxe. For this you will need:
- Cactus Stick×3: Created at a sawmill from ordinary cactus, which is mined in the desert;
- Sand Claw×3: Dropped by sand wolves, which also live in the arid biome.
Although obsidian is sometimes found on the ground, it is most often found on ceilings or high on walls. Before you create a couple of stairs and platforms, deal with the enemies, otherwise they will blow up all the buildings. Don't be afraid of lava - it does little damage, wooden structures won't burn from it, and a lava waterfall won't cause any damage to anyone.

How to make an obsidian block
Open the construction menu and, in the tab "Workplaces", find the stone crusher. To create it you need:
- Kornevyaz×20: mined in standard caves in the green biome;
- Marble×20: can be found in the same caves in the green meadows.
Interact with the stone crusher and, in the list that opens, find an obsidian block: for production you will need 1 unit of ordinary obsidian.
Obsidian blocks are useful in the later stages of the game for crafting epic purple equipment, artifacts, leveling up your workbench to the maximum level, creating a furnace, some decorative items, and also making a large chest.
