The fantasy atmosphere in The Witcher 3 is only partially similar to its competitors in the genre: in the Geralt universe there really was a place for dragons, princesses and knights in shining armor. But in addition to the classical elements, there are plenty of experimental ones, which cannot be told in more detail!
The developers from CD Project Red are in no hurry to follow the canons of the genre, and therefore the three-dimensional universe was filled with talking trolls, witches from the swamps, and crazy wizards who built a tower with a spire piercing the sky on the outskirts of the virtual city. But at once to tell about all the oddities in The Witcher 3 impossible, so it's time to choose ten really unique stories in which you can not do without a monster hunter.
Fist fight with bear and troll
Geralt in battle relies on iron and silver swords: both, according to The Witcher, are meant for monsters - those whose lives do not benefit, but only harm medieval society. In addition to weapons, the hero's arsenal includes signs, consumable items, and even a crossbow. In the Fists of Fury quest, there is a chance to demonstrate the power of witcher's hands and win on each of the islands of contenders for the title of champions.
In addition to people in fights for titles, there will also be bear and trollb, a mysterious enemy lurking on Spikeroog.
Living in someone else's skin
The plot addition "Hearts of Stone" brings new characters to The Witcher 3 universe, including Olgerd Von Everek, who is completely out of the usual scenery and becomes a unique figure in the story. But this is not about Olgerd, but about the brother of the new character, Vitold. That left the mortal world a long time ago, but dreams of returning back – at least for a couple of moments. But here's the problem: even sorcerers can bring someone back to life only in an unusual way. Instead of Vitold, a spirit will appear, and even then only if a suitable vessel is found.
The Witcher, by the way, is suitable: the hero will accept a ghost from the past and become a guide to a wild life. Geralt hadn't had so much fun for a long time. It’s a pity that the next morning after the party rolled up by Vitold, his head will begin to crack, and in the villages they will talk about the adventures of the brave witcher for a long time to come.
Dreamland
DLC for The Witcher 3 diligently guides Geralt into new worlds. In "Hearts of Stone" you had to look beyond the picture, and in the supplement "Blood and Wine" - into a book containing half of the references to classic works of fiction. The hero has to find the princess, walk along the yellow brick road, find three pigs and a little red riding hood.
In addition to plot twists and turns in a fairy tale thoughtful and decorations: around towers and fortresses suitable for the genre, a rainbow hovering in the sky, and fantastic forests with unique living creatures.
Defeat for glory
Geralt has plenty of heroic deeds: defeated vampires and basilisks, battles with the soldiers of the Red Rose, the liberation of peasant villages from evil spirits. But sometimes weapons are not enough to win. Sometimes you need to bow your head to the enemy and, trusting intuition, find an unexpected solution to a confusing curse.
It's about a duel with a ghost, which for many years now has been forced to fight with daredevils from all over the world and lose. Such is the hard fate of an almost training target. But Geralt is able to take pity on the ghost, using a little trick. Why not let the enemy win? Perhaps the curse will disappear if only the ghost wins.
Звездный путь
Geralt, in an attempt to find Cirilla, was not afraid to experiment: he asked everyone around, looked for entries in other people's diaries, knocked out useful knowledge along with teeth from someone's head. But besides brute force periodically you need to be creative.
A suitable opportunity is provided in Novigrad, where the Witcher will become an actor, perform on a medieval stage and from there recite a tiny age for transmission of important information to Doppler Dudu. In addition to the debut, Geralt will have to choose costumes, actors, spectators, and at the same time also improvise on stage several times.
Second happiness
The atmosphere in The Witcher 3 is sometimes quite oppressive: devastated villages, ghosts hovering over cemeteries, witches in the swamps. But sometimes the developers from CD Project Red do trying to break unprepared hearts. Take, for example, the Bloody Baron, who lost his child and was forced to go through hell to help Geralt.
It is pointless to retell the quest in its entirety: everyone should take a look at the horror in the Witcher universe - such an unusual opportunity does not appear every day, and even not under such intimate music, in the rain and with elements in the spirit of Lovecraft books.
redan blood
Quest "Volunteer" in The Witcher 3 turns the monster terminology on its head in the virtual bestiary. And all because of the rock troll, who settled west of Oksenfurt and killed half the soldiers of the Redanian army in the district, and at the same time the local peasants. Under the contract, the Witcher needs to neutralize the troll, but an alternative scenario for the development of events is also provided. If you listen to the monster then he will tell a heartfelt story about the recruitment into the army, the order issued, and how war almost broke out because of the inhabitants of Oxenfurt.
By accepting the troll's story, the opportunity arises help the recruit of the Redanian army: you just have to find paints and turn the fortress surrounding the monster into a headquarters with a coat of arms on the fort. King Radovid, perhaps, would have appreciated the efforts.
Heart to heart conversations
Sometimes orders pour in on the Witcher, as if from a cornucopia. Trolls, lesser vampires, ghosts, and here's another errand from the village herbalist. She really squirmed because of an invisible monster devouring supplies and instilling fear in the inhabitants around. Geralt will have to deal with the misfortune. But first you have to drink a strange decoction of herbs. A couple of moments and the contract is in the past, but the brew has an unexpected side effect - the ability to talk to the horse.
A humorous quest in The Witcher 3 painstakingly pokes fun at half of the bugs made by CD Project Red, talks about how why is it so hard for Roach to travel long distances on the mapand why sometimes you need to rest more often. But is it worth trusting the ongoing dialogue, or is the problem lies directly in the broth?
Sword of Lancelot
References to works of art - fairy tales, fables, films - in The Witcher 3 are often found. The quest in Toussaint from the addition "Blood and Wine" is another confirmation of this. Geralt will have a chance to find the legendary silver sword Arondite, which sticks out of the water and will only be given to those who possess the five knightly virtues - honor, wisdom, generosity, valor and sympathy.
A reference to White Terence Hanbury's "The Sword in the Stone" and Excalibur of King Arthur visible from afar. But why not play along and show the world the true power of the Witcher?
New priorities
After the release of The Witcher series on Netflix, the demand for The Witcher 3 has skyrocketed again, despite the highly controversial film adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski's novels. The reason for everything is the wave of those who have swept over consoles and computers. never encountered the game version of the legends of the gray-haired monster hunter.
But besides the "recruits" in The Witcher 3, loyal fans also returned, and even with a quite understandable goal - to turn Geralt ... into Henry Cavill with the help of thematic modifications. The idea is not new: earlier in The Witcher 3, Cyril also took the place of the main character, and even Buttercup. And, if there is a desire to look at the universe from an unexpected angle, then modifications are the right choice.
The Witcher 3 loves to surprise its fans. In this game you can wedding of Geralt and Yennefer with the help of a fan modification. The most important thing is not to lose interest in the project and constantly test it for strength.
Arondite is not an Easter egg for King Arthur's sword, it is Geralt's original sword, which was given to him by the mistress of the lake back in the first game.
All right. He was in the second part. But the very talk of serving the ball in the third part in the spirit of King Arthur
ed DLC "Blood and Wine" with a visit to the fairy-tale world only the day before yesterday. I started playing 2 years ago, but have not yet gone down this path.
I especially liked the opportunity to crush Thumbelina. And the moment where Geralt is diligently cleaning his boots.
Ribbon? Maybe I'd rather not take it.
I can't decide which ending is better - "bad" or "neutral". 2 characters in my opinion should die, one should survive.
Too bad they don't make a sequel to this great game...
in general, they were in the plans until they screwed up so hard with Cyberpunk
I got cyberpunk. ed it to 2 endings with patch 1.12, Bugs practically did not notice. Took 97 hours.
f***ed up? May be.
The main goal: "to row the loot with a shovel", quoting King Ziggy, they achieved.
And they don’t care about the reputation of the company, as long as they don’t sue.
I suppose they added gays to the game, spitting on the opinion of straight people, but avoiding courts with toleras.
In general, I will only complete the game when enough patches are released and all DLCs are released.
Because for the sake of DLC for the second time from the torrent, there is no desire to .
