What is a reed pipe
The reed pipe is a special device found in Fontaine. It is a mechanism made in the form of a musical instrument, the activation of which occurs as a result of the propagation of waves from dew bubbles. All pipes located in the riddle location have a specific serial number, indicated in the form of runes above them. To receive rewards you will need to launch all the switches in the right order.
How does a reed pipe work?
To activate the Reed Pipe, you need to find and explode dew bubbles located nearby. The explosion will release shock waves, triggering the mechanisms. Each pipe has its own number, displayed above it in the form of a rune and indicating the order in which it should be activated. If devices have the same number of characters above them, they must be turned on at the same time.
The dew bubbles may not be in the right places or have the right power. To do this, not far from the riddle there is a monument with the ability xenochrome globular octopus. The skill will help you change the position of the pipes where possible, move the bubbles, and also combine them to increase the area affected by the wave.
How to Solve All Reed Flute Puzzles in Genshin Impact in Fontaine
In total, there are 12 riddles with reed pipes located on the territory of Fontaine, each of which has special conditions and a device. Next, we will look at the location of all the puzzles separately, and also show how to solve them.
Reed pipe 1
The first puzzle with reed pipes is located on the sandy shore of the island in the Bello area. You can get to it from the nearest teleportation point on the mountain to the south. The puzzle consists of many dew bubbles and four pipes arranged in a semicircle. Before proceeding with the solution, arm yourself with the Xenochrome Octopus skill, taking it from the monument on the other side.
First move the bubble located next to one-rune pipe opposite the monument, using the newly acquired skill of the xenochrome creature. It must be positioned so that its area of effect affects the bubble near the next mechanism. Then do the same with the penultimate bubble, moving it closer to the others so as to create a single chain of blast waves.
Attack the bubble that was moved first and wait until the waves of the created chain activate all the reed tubes in the right order. After solving the riddle, a reward in the form of a precious chest will appear in the center of the location.
Reed pipe 2
The second puzzle is located in the underwater Mort area west of Ipsissimus Tower. In the ruins of the bridge you will find only two reed pipes and one bubble, the affected area of which does not reach one of the mechanisms.
At the end of the bridge, find the xenochrome octopus and take its ability to use further.
Lower the mechanism on which the second pipe is located at the bottom of the bridge all the way down by activating the switch on the column using the skill of the xenochrome creature. Then move the dew bubble slightly so that it is halfway between the two mechanisms.
Break the bubble, releasing a blast wave to launch both devices. Solving the puzzle will unlock a rich chest above the bridge.
Reed pipe 3
The third puzzle is located on the upper level of the Ipsissimus Tower, both in its submerged state and while on the surface. A dew bubble is hidden in the center of the structure, around which there are four reed pipes.
To solve the riddle, go higher and find the second bubble. After picking up the ability of the xenochrome octopus floating next to it (or from the monument on the platform if the tower is not already flooded), move the bubble down and combine it with the one located in the center.
By exploding the bubble, you can activate all four mechanisms and unlock a rich chest located on the floor to the side of the puzzle.
Reed pipe 4
The fourth puzzle is located east of Ipsissimus Tower, in the ruins below the ground teleportation point in Morta. On the ruins of the ancient tower you will find three reed pipes and two bubbles located in different parts of the structure.
Take the ability from the xenochrome octopus floating at the bottom and use it by powering the switch of the pipe column. Raise it to its maximum height so that the mechanism is flush with the rest.
Then move the large bubble from the pillar fragment so that it is between the one and two rune pipes. Hit it, causing a wave, and immediately swim to the second bubble above. Wait for the second mechanism to activate and hit the ball to launch the third device.
Solving the riddle will spawn a rich chest on the bridge away from the entire puzzle.
Reed pipe 5
On the shore south of the Path in the Misty Forest is the fifth riddle with pipes. To solve the puzzle with three mechanisms and two vials, you will need to take the octopus ability from the altar next to the broken boat.
Using the skill, move both water balls towards each other so that they merge into one. Move the resulting bubble towards the devices, placing it in the center.
Blow up the ball and thereby activate all three reed pipes. A reward in the form of a rich chest will appear in place of the bubble.
Reed pipe 6
At the foot of the mountain east of the Epicles Theater you will find the sixth puzzle, consisting of only two mechanisms. Activate the Anemo monument (for example, Ember.
A wave that appears in the air will launch both pipes, leaving a reward in the form of a precious chest at the monument.
Reed pipe 7
On the eastern shore of the island of Erinyes is the seventh riddle of the five reed pipes. To activate them, equip the Xenochrome Octopus ability from the altar nearby, then move both dew bubbles to the mechanisms. One water ball should be closer to the pipe with one runeso that it lights up first, and the second one is closer to the device with by four characters.
Hit the bubble between the pipes with 1 and 2 runes, then, without waiting for the wave to end, run to the second one and hit it. This way you can activate all the mechanisms in the right order. If everything is done correctly, a reward in the form of a precious chest will appear on the shore.
Reed pipe 8
The eighth mystery is hidden in the lake under the weeping willow, whether it was restored or not. Go down into the water to see a platform with three pipes and a walled-up octopus.
First, go to the north of the cave and pick up the Xenochrome Ostray ability. Return to the seaweed in which the sea creature is entangled and fire a projectile towards the glowing spheres at the moment when they line up to free it.
Take the new ability and go to the place of contamination next to the mechanisms. Start attacking the clumps with your Ball Octopus ability until the area is clear. A dew bubble will spawn on the emerging sprout, which must be moved towards the pipes.
Place the ball between the mechanisms with the same rune so that they are activated simultaneously. When all devices are lit, a rich chest nearby will be unlocked.
Reed pipe 9
On the mountainside southwest of the willow tree is the ninth puzzle with reed pipes. The two mechanisms are in the air, and a dew bubble is periodically released from a sprout on the stone.
Wait for a new ball to appear and break it with an archer's shot at the moment when it is at the level of the devices. Take the due reward from the rich chest that appears next to the stone.
Reed pipe 10
The tenth puzzle is located on the river bank a little north of Markot Station. To solve it, it is enough to break a single dew bubble next to two mechanisms. After completing the puzzle, you can pick up the rich chest that appears nearby.
Reed pipe 11
The last riddle can be found by the river near Lake Urania. Next to the two pipes are two dew bubbles needed to activate them. Take the xenochrome octopus ability from the monument on the shore and use it to move one of the balls towards the other to combine them.
Place the resulting bubble between the mechanisms so that it is closer to the first than to the second. Break it and wait for the pipes to activate.
Near the place where you took the ability, you can open a reward in the form of a rich chest.
Reed pipe 12
The twelfth puzzle is located in a cave that opens with a luxurious chest located in the water in the same cave, and three fairies. To free one of them, you will have to solve a riddle with a reed pipe and dew bubbles.
Climb up to the fairy on the rock and the pipe with one rune, then activate the elemental monument using the Hydro element. Two platforms with dew bubbles will appear.
When the platforms are on the same level, pop the nearest ball to play the nearest pipe first, and then the far one so that the one located in the distance will sound.
